Read All About It!

As part of 'World of Writing' Week Year 4 worked at creating their own Newspaper.

All of Year 4 worked together to produce their first edition of 'Firs 4 News'. They  divided themselves into small groups to focus on a particular article or responsibility within the newspaper and spent the whole week planning their pieces, interviewing members of staff and other pupils, preparing and sampling their own recipes and writing up their articles.

On Monday, 19th October 2009 we heard that we had the task of creating a newspaper. We thought it would be an impossible challenge, but it all figured out well.

We started on Tuesday by signing a piece of paper on the wall with all the categories on. There were; Sport, Photographers, News, Cooking, ECO/Weather, Jobs, Interviews, Art, Fashion, Science, Technology, History and Entertainment.

We spent the whole week planning, researching and writing our articles.

On Friday we had a special assembly for 'World of Writing' Week and each Year Group talked about their projects.

It was a success! We have two copies of the mighty FIRS 4 NEWS!  Spending most of our week in the Computer Suite had payed off. We have our newspapers up on display in the cloakroom display area.

Thank you

On Monday, 19th October Year 4 made a fantastic newspaper. Everyone in the year did something great. We signed up for what we wanted to do, did it and had a great time! There was a Sport Section, Fashion Section, Art Section, Photographer, Jobs, ECO and Weather, Interviews, News, Cooking, Science and DT,  Technology , Entertainment and History. We mixed the Year 4 classes up and used both of them.

The reason why we did it was because that week it was 'World of Writing' Week.
