Yr 4 Forest Schools - November 2015
Year 4 began their Forest school sessions enthusiastically by creating their own 'Green man' .
The Green man or Spirit of the wood was first seen in Celtic times. His image is still found all over the world within many cultures and religions. He symbolises natures rebirth and controls the seasons.
The children collected natural resources to create the Green man's face and then secured it to the tree trunks within the grounds of the school.
They also used the resources to make a UK native animal, which promoted much debate!
A few children chose to make dens for their creations, while others chose to take them home.
Great team work and creative skills were shown by all.
A great start.
