Year 3 Holdenby House Visit

An immersive experience that helped bring history to life in a fun and memorable way.

On Monday, Year 3 had the exciting opportunity to visit Holdenby House and step into the shoes of wartime evacuees.

Dressed in 1940s-style clothing and carrying their identity cards and gas mask boxes, the children experienced what life might have been like for young evacuees during World War II.

Throughout the day, they took part in a variety of hands-on activities, including air raid drills, rationing games, and learning about life on the Home Front. The immersive experience helped bring history to life in a fun and memorable way.

The children all had a great time and gained a lot from the experience. It was a fantastic way to deepen their understanding of the past and connect with their topic in a meaningful and engaging way.
