The festive season has well and truly begun at The Firs, thanks to our amazing PTFA who have been busy bringing joy, creativity and Christmas magic to our school community!
A Magical Panto Experience
On Wednesday 26th November, our children enjoyed a spectacular surprise — a full professional theatre experience right here at school! The performance of Scrooge – A Christmas Panto had everyone laughing, joining in, and shouting all the classic panto lines… oh no they didn’t… oh yes they did!
A huge thank you to our wonderful PTFA for organising such a special treat and giving our children memories they’ll never forget.
Baubles, Bubbles and Festive Fun
The celebrations continued on Friday 14th November with our cosy Baubles and Bubbles event. Twenty-five parents and carers enjoyed a relaxing evening of bauble-painting, led by Zoe from Crafty Little Things Ltd. With delicious nibbles from Jo at Bits & Boards and plenty of bubbly refreshments, it was the perfect way to start the Christmas season.
The raffle helped raise an amazing £411 — thank you to everyone who bought tickets or attended. We are so grateful for your support, and we extend a special thank you to Zoe and Jo for helping make the evening extra special.
A Sparkling PTFA Christmas Fair
Our PTFA Christmas Fair returned on Saturday 22nd November, filling the hall with festive sparkle and excitement. Families enjoyed a whole range of activities — from writing letters to Santa in the Elves’ Workshop, to spinning the wheel with Mr. Campbell, to exploring the Christmas Market full of treats and treasures.
This year’s raffle was our biggest yet, with an incredible 23 prizes, including hampers, festive goodies and even a Tevaplanter! Thank you to everyone who donated prizes and helped make the draw so exciting.
A special well-done goes to our brilliant Year 4 helpers, who transformed into cheerful elves for the afternoon. They supported younger children in the workshop, kept everything running smoothly and even took on “bouncer duty” at the doors. You were fantastic!

We are so grateful to everyone who donated, baked and volunteered to run stalls at these events. Most of all, a huge thank you to our brilliant PTFA team, whose enthusiasm and creativity shine through in everything they do.
They’ve already brought us an incredible start to the festive season — and there’s even more Christmas fun on the way!
