World Book Day

Celebrated by The Firs Lower School and The Saplings Pre-school

At The Firs,  all the children (and staff) looked amazing in their costumes and they all had a wonderful World Book day.  Adam Guillain, an author, who we arranged to visit our school, gave fantastic storytelling workshops to each year group throughout the day.

He was then in the hall for an after-school book signing featuring some of his latest books. We would like to thank Allison Brady, our literacy leader for organising this amazing event.

The Saplings, The Firs Lower Pre-school, also had a great time dressing up as their favourite characters to celebrate World Book day. Staff really enjoyed sharing the children's favourite stories with them. The children also drew some fantastic pictures of their favourite book characters. A big thank you to everyone for taking part.

We would also like to thank all our parents for providing your children with their costumes and supporting this event.

Further photos from this event can be viewed in either The Firs Photo Gallery or The Saplings Photo Gallery.
