French Day

at The Firs Lower School

All the children had a wonderful day yesterday, Thursday 8th October, when they all came to school dressed in their French flag colours.  The day started with various French activities in their classroom such as singing, games , finding out about France and learning French vocabulary and phrases.  This was followed by a wonderful French menu at lunchtime (a big thank you to Harrison Catering and our Kitchen Manager Jo Stefanelli). In the afternoon, the children enjoyed the French Café experience in the hall where there was an opportunity for different classes to share with each other what they had been learning and there was a lovely selection of French bread and cheese for the children to enjoy. We would like to thank all of you for your support with the outfits and food – this was very much appreciated. We would also like to say a big thank you to Mrs Croft, teacher in Hazel Class, for all her work in organising such an enjoyable day.  If you want to get a flavour of what the day was like, please go to our Photo Gallery where there are pictures in our French Day album.
