Year R Sports Morning
Sack races and sprints, Pine Class have fun in the sun
Our Reception children had their sports day on Tuesday 16th July and enjoyed competing in the summer sunshine, all the children did so well participating in the fun events which had been organised by Mrs Freeman.
The children were divided into two teams, red and green, and took part in a beanbag and hoop challenge, a traditional sack race, a bat and bag twist on the potato and spoon race and a 50m sprint, winning points for their team.
For the sprint, the girls raced against the girls and the boys against the boys, with the fastest two from each heat going through to the finals. The children thrived on the competitive nature of the races and those watching cheered their peers on as they raced to cross the finishing line.
Overall winners of the morning were the green team, who were rewarded with golden stickers, a lap of honour and a winners exit through a tunnel made by our year 4 sports ambassadors.
Well done to both teams, all children showed great team spirit and sportsmanship and thoroughly enjoyed their morning. We would like to thank all the parents, carers, grandparents, aunties and uncles who came to support the children on the day and to Mrs Freeman and Miss Hill for all their hard work planning and organising this event.
