Celebrating World Book Day at The Firs
World Book Day Assembly, Story Time with Parents and Grandparents, and Bedtime Stories
The day started with an assembly, where some children and the staff shared what characters they had come as. We also looked at who we read with, when we can read and where. The children were very excited to come dressed as their favourite character and see the staff were dressed up too! They had a fantastic time all day, enjoying World Book Day activities in their classes.
Working together to achieve our best.
In addition, the children loved the reading sessions with the many parent and grandparent volunteers who joined us in the hall, during the day, to share the children's books. Thank you to all our volunteers, for doing such an amazing job today!
Thank you to Mrs Brady for organising the day and to all the staff for entering into the spirit of the occasion so fully.
Thanks also to all the parents and carers for your support in finding costumes for the children, it all helped to make the day so memorable for them.
The ‘Bedtime stories’ event was highly successful and it was lovely to see so many of our children enjoying a bedtime story in their pyjamas after school.
We would like to thank the staff members who stayed on after school to contribute to the ‘Bedtime Stories’ as part of our World Book Day arrangements. We would also like to thank the PTA for organising ‘the café’ and to the many parents who came along to support the evening.
