The Firs Marks Remembrance and Armistice Day

Thank you and well done to our School Council Members for representing The Firs

The Royal British Legion have dropped off poppies for Remembrance Day, and they have also left a box of Remembrance merchandise.

Our Year 4 School Council have had these on display in the stage area throughout week, and you will be able to donate, should you wish to.

If the weather is wet at the end of the school day, they will be available from the staffroom window.

Thank you for your support

The Firs Marks Remembrance and Armistice Day

On Friday 11th the Firs marked Armistice Day as we normally do, with a minute’s silence at 11:00 am. Teachers spoke with the children beforehand to explain the purpose and significance of the event. Well done to all our children who marked the event in a very sensible and thoughtful manner.

Remembrance Day

On Sunday 12th members of the School Council accompanied by Mrs Jukes and I represented the school at the annual Remembrance event at the Ampthill Cenotaph.

After the address by Reverend Dominic Holroyd there was a 2-minute silence and following a reveille wreaths were laid.

Our School Councillors conducted themselves very well, and we were very proud of them.
