Tree and Hedge planting at The Firs
Through a generous donation from The Forest of Marston Vale
As part of taking pride in our school grounds and learning more about nature and the environment, at the Firs groups of children have been getting hands on and a little bit muddy.
Through a generous donation from The Forest of Marston Vale and their Community Engagement Officer, Jo Roberts, children from all ages across the school have helped to plant over 400 trees and hedging shrubs at the school.
Planting these trees will be a lasting memory for the older children and something for the younger children to watch grow as they themselves grow here over their years at the Firs.
Thank you to all those who helped this week - in the words of the Greek proverb:
'A society grows great when people plant trees whose shade they know they will never sit in'
