    Communication

If you have any conern please feel free to contact us via email:

    Reading

Please hear your child read as often as you possibly can. When you have read with them, please note down the page they are up to and any relevant comments about how you feel they are getting on with their reading record.

Please do not feel that you have to rush through books or read a book a night. A few pages is often enough and it is important that children have time to discuss the meaning of the book as well as being able to read the words.

    Homework

Spellings will be gradually introduced during this term. The children practise their spellings of the common exception words each week in school, and then we will send a sheet home for them to practise their spellings with you. At the end of each term the children are quizzed on their spellings.

Once the children have settled in, we will be sending home a learning log book, which gives a choice of activities for the children to choose to complete at home. Once an activity has been completed and recorded in the learning log, encourage your child to show their class teacher who will be looking at them. Each activity completed earns a dojo point! We will start learning logs after the October half term and will provide more details nearer the time.
