Parent Forum

Welcome to the Parent Forum page!

What is the Parent Forum?

The Parent Forum is a consultative body that supports the partnership between parents and school, that is so important to us at The Firs.

The Forum meets at least once a term.

It is a valuable way to contribute ideas, celebrate successes, share views and make suggestions for improvements.

The outcomes from Parent Forum discussions will be shared with the School Leadership Team (SLT) and Governors, to feed into the decision making process that determines our policies and procedures.

The aims of the Forum:

  • To foster an active partnership between home and school

  • To support children’s learning and welfare

  • To improve communication

  • To act as a ‘sounding board’, gain feedback and represent the voice of parents

  • To share information, knowledge and skills

  • To suggest and support aspects of school improvement

Who can be part of the Forum?

Any parent is welcome to join any Parent Forum meeting. We are very grateful to the Parent Forum members who have committed to attend regularly.

Members of the School Senior Leadership Team (SLT) join meetings too and Governors are welcome to attend.

Current Members of the Forum

Helen Rossetti, Gayle Harrison, Leigh Corbett, Caryn Evirgen, Sarah Best, Vicky McQueen, Claire McChristie, Rebecca Ellis, Teja Parbhoo, Lisa White, Anita Wilson and Caroline Wise

Why should I be part of the Forum?

The Forum gives parents an opportunity to get together, on a regular basis, to meet members of staff and give your views on what the school is doing well and suggest ideas about how things could be improved.

So come along and have your say!
