To further support our School Values and our promotion of 'British Values', we think about and celebrate one of our 22 values each month, often linking them with different events and festivals, both locally and around the world.
We look at the value in assembly and in class and we aim to ‘live’ that value in the way we work with others in school.
In Novermber 2026 our value is Patience
At school, we explain to the children that patience is about realising that some things just take time and responding to this fact of life by waiting without getting upset.
Instead of getting frustrated when they face a difficult situation, patience will help them to act rationally, without getting upset or losing their temper.
Patience helps us to generate a positive, measured outlook and to keep going in order to overcome obstacles.
We are asking parents/carers at home to let us know if they think their child has demonstrated patience, describing how they demonstrated this value. We will celebrate some of their achievements in assembly (if they are happy with this). Examples of patience might be:
Waiting for their turn without interrupting and without complaint.
Accepting without argument, that they can’t always have their own way.
Accepting what cannot be changed.
Trying over and over until they achieve a goal.
What people have said about patience…
